Been waiting a long time for this one: HBO's adaptation of George R. R. Martin's first book in his A Song of Ice and Fire series, A Game of Thrones. It's premiering sometime in 2011.

The Walking Dead
The Walking Dead series premiers on Halloween night on AMC - not sure how they snagged the show and I'm surprised that HBO didn't. The comic is absolutely incredible. Check out this 4+ minute trailer.

Via the official Left 4 Dead blog:
"The Sacrifice” is the prequel to "The Passing," and takes place from the Left 4 Dead Survivors' perspective as they make their way South. You may read the comic to find out the official version of events or this October 5th you may play the game to choose your own ending.
In "The Sacrifice" for Left 4 Dead, gamers receive the complete Sacrifice campaign with maps playable in Campaign, Versus, and Survival. There are 5 new achievements, a new style finale and plenty of places for devastating Hunter pounces.
For Left 4 Dead 2, gamers receive “The Sacrifice” campaign and L4D1’s “No Mercy” both playable with the L4D1 Survivors. This version also offers 5 new achievements. In the L4D2 version of “The Sacrifice” each campaign is playable in Campaign, Versus, Survival, and Scavenge modes, and both "The Sacrifice" and L4D2 version of No Mercy feature the Left 4 Dead 2 Special Infected, items, and weapons. Yes, Zoey with a chainsaw!
"The Sacrifice" will be available as two separate packages on Xbox Live for 560 Microsoft Points each and free to all PC gamers.
Check out the incredibly awesome trailer for it below.
And other cool info (from the above video's description): With the AI Director 2.0, L4D's dynamic gameplay is taken to the next level by giving the Director the ability to procedurally change weather effects, world objects, and pathways in addition to tailoring the enemy population, effects, and sounds to match the players' performance. The result is a unique game session custom fitted to provide a satisfying and uniquely challenging experience each time the game is played. Adding new Survivors, boss zombies, weapons, and items, Left 4 Dead 2 offers a much larger game than the original, featuring more co-operative campaigns, more Versus campaigns, new Survival maps, and the new competitive game mode, Scavenge, all available at launch.
After reading all that and watching the trailer, I just popped a boner.

The 90's in 94 Seconds
Maybe you were born in 1985 and remember growing up to these things, but I was just finishing high school and moving on to college. Then afterwards: first apartment, first time going out to the bars with my buddies, first time out on my own... the 90's hold a very dear spot in my memory. So, even though this is geared more towards growing up in the 90's, it still elicited a shit-ton of awesome memories for me.

Video Game Zombies
I love zombies. Purists will note that I don't just like reanimated-dead-corpse style zombies, but also the infected-by-a-virus style, Haitian voodoo zombies, and other iterations (maybe some day I'll explain my theory of how the notion of "zombie" has changed over the years as a reflection of our current fears).
Zombie movies (Night of the Living Dead, 28 Days Later, etc), zombie comics (Walking Dead, Crossed, etc), and especially zombie video games (Left 4 Dead, Dead Rising, etc) - these are a few of my favorite things.
Here's a cool little article on the history of zombies in video games courtesy of GamePro.

Real World PipBoy 3000
A wearable, plastic mock up of the PipBoy 3000 came packaged with one of the collector's editions of the game Fallout 3. You can find instructables out there to gut it and insert an iPod Touch, which is pretty cool. But, how about a real world PipBoy 3000? Check this linkage out. Per that site: The Zypad® WR1100 rugged wrist-worn personal computer (PC) is a powerful wearable computing device designed for harsh environmental conditions that can be worn comfortably on the user’s wrist for hands-free operation. The WR1100 is designed to meet MIL-STD-810F and MIL-STD-461E requirements, making it an ideal solution for military, homeland defense, first responder, security, and emergency service field and in-vehicle applications.

Star Wars Retro Mashups
Some cool (and some not so cool) mashups of classic movie scenes, paintings, etc with Star Wars themes. I think my favorite is the Death Star/Moses parting the Red Sea.
