Duke Nukem Forever's Balls Of Steel
No clue how authentic this is, but the picture above is supposed to be a promotional item for the upcoming Duke Nukem Forever game. "Balls of steel" indeed.
I don't know what the date stamped on it represents (2.7.11) since the game has a slated release date of May 3, 2011.

L.A. Noire Gameplay
L.A. Noire (release date May, 2011) is looking more and more like a Must-Buy but what the hell is with the narrator? He sounds like he should be the voice over for a campy movie trailer for an Ashton Kutcher romantic comedy.

PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: ON STRANGER TIDES (to be released May 20, 2011)
Captain Jack Sparrow encounters mermaids, zombies, and Blackbeard on his quest to find the Fountain of Youth.
SUPER 8 (to be released June 10, 2011)
Not much is known about this flick, which is par for the course for a J. J. Abrams movie - and I like it that way. What IS known: set in rural Ohio, 1979, a group of kids are filming a zombie movie when they see something escape a derailed freight train. A dash of Close Encounters mixed with Cloverfield with a sprinkle of E.T. perhaps?
CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE FIRST AVENGER (to be released July 22, 2011)
The cogs are finally starting to settle into place for the upcoming Avengers movie. After the credits rolled in the first Iron Man, we get a quick scene with Samuel Jackson as Nick Fury introducing the "Avenger Initiative." A good observer can also find Cap's shield in the background of one scene in the original Iron Man (the shield makes another obvious appearance in Iron Man 2). Then there's the scene in The Incredible Hulk with Tony Stark meeting up with General Ross. Finally, after the credits rolled for Iron Man 2, we got a shot of Mjollnir, Thor's hammer. It will be interesting to see what secret scenes, Easter eggs, and nods this year's Thor and Captain America movies reveal.
THOR (to be released May 6, 2011)
TRANSFORMERS 3: DARK OF THE MOON (to be released July 1, 2011)
I still hate the name of this movie. It still reminds me of Ozzy's Bark at the Moon album. I have a strange feeling this movie will actually be better than part two, but that's really not saying much. It's fairly easy to be better than shitty.
BATTLE: LOS ANGELES (to be released March 11, 2011)
I know almost nothing of this movie aside from what we get from the trailer.
COWBOYS & ALIENS (to be released July 29, 2011)
The graphic novel this is based on is great in concept but doesn't really play out all that well, in my opinion. Since I don't do full reviews, I won't go into it but it's far from terrible. How it grabbed Jon Favreau's and Alex Kurtzman's attentions are way beyond me, though. What boggles me the most is the trailer doesn't have a single scene that's even remotely reminiscent of the comic. This one really could go either way: really awesome or absolutely terrible.
PRIEST (to be released May 13, 2011)
Manga publisher Tokyopop brought the comic series Priest to the United States from Korea back in 2002. It circulated really well within the horror genre circles but never really took off. I don't know much aside from the fact the comic had a lot of vampires, guns, martial arts, angels, and demons in it.

The New Thundercats
Warner Bros. Animation has officially announced a new Thundercats cartoon series to be hitting Cartoon Network as early as Fall, 2011. The above picture is supposed to be the actual look of the new show. The picture below is one of the concepts released earlier, which I prefer.
Battlefield 3 Site Is Up
EA's site for Battlefield 3 is now up and running with a release date set for "Fall 2011."
DICE has officially announced the cancellations of Battlefield: Bad Company 2's Onslaught mode (the game isn't suited for one IMHO) and a PC version of Battlefield 1943. Instead, DICE is committing itself to working on BF3, which will be an actual and full sequel to 2005's Battlefield 2. BF3 will be released for PC, PS3, and Xbox360 but only the PC version will support 64 player maps. (Below is Game Informer's February cover dedicated to Battlefield 3.)
There will also be a full single player campaign as well as built-in co-op support for the campaign. Unlike Bad Company 2, there is full use of air vehicles (e.g., jets) and the ability to go prone again. Aside from running on the updated Frostbite 2 engine (two major thumbs up!), not much else is known at the moment. For now, enjoy the following teaser trailer:
Anytime I read news or hear about the Battlefield series of games, I can't help but hear the theme music in my head.
Thought I'd share:
