ABC's Last Resort Trailer
The premise of this shows rides a fine line between "this could be a great thriller" and "this fucking sucks." This one starts Fall of 2012 on ABC.
J. J. Abrams' Revolution Full Trailer
I like the Lost meets Hunger Games meets Book of Eli vibe I'm getting from this trailer. Series starts this Fall on Monday nights on NBC.
Hideo Kojima Says "Last of Us" Demo is Not Scripted
Hideo Kojima, the brilliant mind behind the Metal Gear solid series, played through the same "The Last of Us" demo seen HERE and confirms that the events and actions you see in the trailer are NOT scripted. This is awesome news. How will the female sidekick be able to assist in other ways as she does with the brick? How many other ways can the player tackle that particular hallway?
This game is looking hotter and hotter the more I hear about it.

Left 4 Dead Prequel on the Way?
According to ComputerAndVideoGames.com, the developers of the Payday video game series, Overkill Software, has a prequel to the Left 4 Dead series in the works. I don't know squat about Overkill or the Payday series but this has me very concerned that it's not Valve, the creators of the other Left 4 Dead games.
Wreck It Ralph Trailer
Disney's next (after Brave) animated feature will be called Wreck It Ralph and is slated for a November 2, 2012 release. How many video game characters can you find?

Guild Wars 2 Beta Live This Weekend

| The new Lion's Arch |
ArenaNet sold out of all available pre-purchase digital copies of their standard and deluxe editions (LINKAGE here). How does one sell out of digital copies? It turns out that since each pre-purchase granted access to the Beta event this weekend, they had to limit how many copies could be sold by the maximum amount of possible players per server multiplied by the number of servers. Current estimates put that at 48 servers' worth of players! I have no idea how many players per server that allows, but... DAMN. Could this be the game that balances the Free to Play models of D&D Online and Everquest with the monthly paid model of World of Warcraft? Guild Wars 2 will have some microtransactions but not nearly as many as those Free to Play games but that's because most of that cost will be offset by the purchase price ($60 for the standard game) with the added bonus of no monthly charge.
ArenaNet announced that as soon as their server loads can be better balanced once final tallies of player numbers come in (most likely when the Open Beta event is over) they will relaunch the pre-purchase website. I can't believe Guild Wars 2 has garnered this much attention and excitement - I love it! I may have to rethink my "not playing any multi-player RPG anytime soon" stance.
