He Went to Jared!

Allow me to state this up front: I can't stand those Jared jewelry store television ads.  If you don't know what they are or what they're like, feel free to Google it yourself as I will NOT post a link to them.  If I could spend 5 seconds with the ad exec that approved of the campaign, I'd hammer my fist into their face with the fury of a thousand suns.

However, because the ads are so damned awful they give way to such brilliance as can be seen below.

Video Cards Worthy of Battlefield 3

Battlefield 3 releases October 25, 2011, and the beta hits our systems tomorrow (September 29th, 2011).  How do you know if your video card is up to snuff?  Check out this handy chart:

Dead 4 Left

What if the background story of Left 4 Dead were reversed?  What if, instead of playing 4 humans trying to survive together in a post zombie-apocalypse world, you played four zombies trying to survive against hordes of humans.  I think this would make for an awesome mod or game mode.

Dark Lord Samurai Vader

Most people know by now that George Lucas found a lot of inspiration for the original 1977 Star Wars movie (Episode IV: A New Hope) in Japanese samurai epics.  Darth Vader's look, specifically his helmet, was based on samurai kabuto (helmets).  Knowing all of that makes the following piece of art that much more interesting.

The artist is Jose Vega and you can find more of his awesome art at his tumblr HERE

PS3 Long Live Play New Ad

Kevin Butler, Sony PS3 Spokesman and Vice President of Almost Everything, has helped to kick off a new ad campaign for the PS3 called Long Live Play. The other morning, he tweeted the URL for the following video which has sparked a little talk along the interwebs about what the product might be. There's been speculation about a re-do of PS3's Home, a new PS3 store, and even some sort of Smash Bros-esque fighting game using characters specific to the PS3.

What is interesting to note in the video are the Twisted Metal ice cream truck parked outside of the building, the various forms of currency (paper, gold coins, and even a very Little Big Planet-esque glowing orb) in the collection plate, and then there's the weapons rack with iconic guns from the Resistance and Killzone franchises.

Batman: Arkham City - Joker Trailer

Batman: Arkham City will be released October 18th (PS3, Xbox360).  They've been releasing trailers for it based on the individual enemies that Batman will encounter.  Here is the final one villain trailer for the Joker.

Back to the Future Skateboard Scene A Capella

This is done by the same guy (guys?) who did the Matrix Lobby Scene a capella that I posted a few months back. Awesome stuff.
