What's interesting to me is that I've always heard Lucas intended the Battle of Endor to be an allegory for the Vietnam conflict: a technologically superior invasion force repelled by natives employing guerrilla tactics.
I made an image like this sometime in 1996-97 that I called The Battle of Endor Memorial. It was an Imperial officer leaning on the wall with stormtroopers reflected. I'll have to try to find it.
